chief liasion officer - licensed associate clinician

George W. Hebert, II is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 4 years of clinical experience and over 20 years of Emergency Services experience. George began his career as a First Responder at the age of 19. While pursuing his degree in Biology and Chemistry at Prairie View A&M University, he gained a passion for helping others. His career has allowed him to serve not only as a paramedic for Waller County EMS, but as a Flight Medic for Memorial Hermann’s Life Flight for over 10 years. Over the span of his career, George has assessed and cared for those with critical care needs, which has drawn him to continue serving those in need of mental health support. Throughout his career, George has recognized a dire need for individual mental health support for First Responders and has addressed the long-term and systemic effects on their psyche, bodies, families, and friendships when they are in distress. While serving as a Flight Medic, he realized he could combine his passion for physically helping individuals with helping them mentally as well. George pursued a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Since completing his degree, he has joined the mental health teams at Shield Bearer Counseling Center and Iron Clad Wellness to continue serving the mental health needs of First Responders.

Personally, George attributes his decision to become a therapist to recognizing his own struggles with PTSD and seeking help that has allowed him to support others. Through his own healing, support systems, determination, and his family's support, George is a therapist who brings a wealth of knowledge, personal experience, and care to the field of mental health.
